Mission Photographs

The name of my mission is Pilgrims of Love and is based all on the mystical experience I've been through during my kidnapping ordeal in Colombia.

Father Marino Marin

After his release from six months of captivity in the jungles of Colombia, Marino went to confession with a Franciscan priest who shortly after, became his spiritual father: Fray Jose Maria de las cinco llagas, an Italian Abbott and founder in Colombia of the Franciscan renewal order. Marino spent fourteen months in California thereafter, learning how to be a Catholic again, not knowing that a mission lies ahead of him.

One day during the celebration of a Palm Sunday mass, he had another mystical experience with Jesus on the crucifix. He was shown by The Lord Jesus through knowledge, the mission that lies ahead of him. He was to accept it or reject it. Jesus was not obliging him to follow his direction. Soon after that Holy Week, he began a missionary experience where his conversion testimony became the center of a full time mission that started in the year 1999 and has been ongoing throughout the world ever since.

With time, the original presentation of the testimony, turned into a very large teaching of many different topics. Marino presents a very clear, simple and easy theology of all of his mystical experience. Although he has never studied theology or religious sciences, he enjoys a very impressive infused knowledge. He never prepares for a talk other than deep prayer and the reading of the word of The Lord, which he always reads to his audience before beginning his missionary talks.

Marino has missioned in many countries. All of the missions are done through invitation. His missions seem to form an endless chain. He does not charge money for his presentations, though he makes a living from the good will offerings from the people he preaches to. He has never been short of any means of survival since he started his missionary life and gave his life completely to Jesus. He lives in complete trust to the will of God.

By observing the needs of many poor priests in the very heart of true poverty in Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Venezuela and Panama, Marino was inspired to find around the countries with more privileged economies, the right help for the right needs. He has seen the Holy Mass being celebrated with a plastic Chalice and priests  wearing liturgical garments that were improvised by good and very poor Samaritans. He began to ask for donations of altar vessels that where not being used any longer, as well as liturgical garments that were old and out of circulation in the wealthy parishes of North America and Europe. This turned to be a great ministry that has provided for many parishes in the poor countries, the necessary items that they do not have. There still are hundreds of churches in great need and obviously he wouldn’t be able to help them all.

Marino also founded a lay mission called: The Pilgrims of Love. This mission involves all of his activities around the world. Among the most important, he cares much for the very poor communities and works very hard to provide them with not only the word of the gospel, but also food, medicine, education and clothing. He has been able to build churches and chapels in many of those communities, as well as schools and first aid centers. His entire mission evolves around the Catholic faith. He is a very strict follower of the social doctrine of the Catholic Church and preaches on those terms everywhere he goes. He has his Bishop right behind him supporting his entire mission: Monsignor Roberto Ospina from the Pastoral Zone of Saint Peter in Bogota. He enjoys a very strong support from the authorities of the Catholic Church at home and abroad. He will not do any thing without the consent of the church first.

Marino collects rosaries, medals, novenas and all kinds of religious goods for the missions with the poor. He finds while missioning in privileged countries, that Catholics are willing to share with the most poor what they are not longer using. He receives boxes of rosaries and medals and other religious goods from many countries and passes them on to Catholic communities who can not afford to buy such items.

Marino’s devotions are recommendations given to him during his mystical experience during captivity in Colombia:

·        The Holy Rosary daily

Sometimes he prays the four sets of mysteries.

·        The chaplet of the Divine Infant of Prague- daily.

·        The chaplet of Saint Michael the Archangel

·        The  exorcism prayer of Saint Patrick

·        Daily reading of  Sacred Scriptures along with some readings of the

lives of the saints, and in particular the lives of the doctors of the church.

·        He tries to spend as much time as possible in silent contemplation

during the visits to the Blessed Sacrament.

Marino  stresses very strongly the importance of Eucharistic adoration. He centers a lot of his preaching on the importance of the sacrament of reconciliation, in order to have a very clean and loyal visit before The Lord Jesus.

His whole spirituality has become more and more a very close relationship with The Divine Infant Jesus. He invites all Catholics to join in this devotion and suggests it as a very deep and important one for spiritual growth.

The Pilgrims of Love mission is a true mystical experience and people everywhere in the world who have had the opportunity to visit with Marino in any of his conferences, will testify to it the same way.

Marino missions in high schools, seminaries, convents, monasteries, parishes, universities, prayer groups, pilgrimages and lately  developed a one day retreat  that has been widely approved by many Catholics in many places of the church. These retreats will give you the opportunity to get a deep renewal experience of the faith.

The Lord Jesus has given him a gift of healing and many times people have been cured of different ailments during his imposition of hands praying.

He has a cardiac condition, so he missions in very close supervision with his doctor. His health is at present very stable and he is still able to travel widely. We ask for your prayers so that his ministry could reach as many people as possible around the globe.  He is presently writing a book on meditations with Jesus and another on New Age, a subject that worries him very much. For this, we also ask for your prayers.
